Regis a trivia subject last night

#1 Post by Kazoo65 » Wed Nov 13, 2013 7:36 pm

Last night I was playing trivia. One of the questions we got asked was about our favorite TV host, Regis Philbin.

It was a two part question. The first part was easier than the second part, and if your team couldn't come up with the answer to the second part, you didn't have to guess (and end up risking your points from the first part).

Part 1- What's Regis' wife's name?

Joy

We got this one right.

Part 2-What clothing company introduced a short-lived "Regis Wear" line that was styled based on his monochromatic look? Ugh. I could SEE Regis wearing those brightly colored shirts and ties but couldn't remember who produced the shirts-I think they were sold at JCPenneys.
The answer is
Spoiler
Van Heusen.
We didn't even try guessing.
I'm just a game show nerd.

You should have invited me. I bought tons of Regis shirts and a few ties about ten years ago. Always on eBay. Usually around 5 bucks each. I even wore one in prime time and chatted with Regis about it on the air when they invited me to do an audience cameo appearance for the 10th anniversary shows.

On my first show I wore a "Regis" tie and while the closing credits were running I told him about it. He actually flipped the tie over to look at the label attached.
