Let's see if I can figure this out. If not, sayonara.

CaseyGrrl's favorite scientist was born late December 1642 or early January 1643, depending on which calendar you're using. That seems early for a "South Sea financial bubble," so let's come back to him. I think Galileo's way too early, 1500-something, and Kepler same. Copernicus predates both of those. Unless I'm way wrong on Galileo or Kepler, Newton, final answer, since he's the latest.

-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller

I'm sure Kyle knows that I-80 and the New Jersey Turnpike are in our neck of the woods, and the Trans-Canada Highway is also nowhere near Oklahoma. So he must not have recognized the name Joad.

Galileo and Copernicus were much too early. Kyle showed guts to go for it. Too bad he picked the wrong guy.

Yeah, the topic was Literary Roadways. While reasoning the question out, the fundamental question is "Who are the Joads and where did they go on their epic journey?" Kyle only focused on the highways and said nothing about Tom Joad.

He didn't even pick up on the "1930s" clue, which predates the interstate highway system.

I thought he might walk away because he couldn't be sure. But he said that "you don't get a chance like this" very often. As for me, I'd have nailed this. I knew it was in the 1700s and the others were too early.

All he needed to know to figure out the last question was that the South Seas Bubble was a British financial debacle. Of the choices, only Isaac Newton was British.

Not to mention that one of the writers seems to have a thing for Newton. I think this is the 3rd question to which he's been the correct answer.
