I drove 45 minutes to play NTN at Bennigan's in North Brunswick last night. The players there are some of the friendliest ones I've found. We all scored above 61,000 (out of 63,750) but they didn't post the rankings.

They miss you, JBG and KT!

Speaking of Bennigan's, I made the mistake of thinking that it might be fun to take the family to a Bennigan's for dinner on St. Patrick's Day.

Thankfully, the wait was too long, so we wound up at a Texas Roadhouse.

That's how we ended up at TGI Fridays and Jeff had chunky beer and chunky water.

Please let me ask a dumb question. What is "chunky" beer and water?

TGI Fridays is one of my favorite places to eat. Trouble is to do that I have to drive to Bismarck or Fargo. :D I also like Bennigans but again in Fargo. Texas Roadhouse---I can wait to go back.

There were things floating in the beer. It looked like brown grass, sort of flaky and brown.

The replacement water had sea monkeys in it.

That's just algae in the beer. Adds a certain zest. :P

I was down on the coast for spring break last week and saw an ad for a bar we had never visited advertising Buzztime. After a long search on the back streets of Biloxi we found it only to be told that they had dropped their subscription the previous month. :x At least the food was good. They advertise it as "New World Cusine" and is a mix of Thai, Italian, and Good Ole Soul food. Sounds like a cafeteria catastrophe but it was actually pretty good. Still no NTN so I doubt we make the trip there again.

Can I ask a stupid NTN question--is it broadcast on-line?

Yes, but not publicly online. They send their data to servers sitting in each location over a private network.

They are a great bunch, for the most part. FTR, I used to make that drive every week, Bob (I lived not too far south of where you are, in Bridgewater). If you go again, tell 'em all I said "Howdy!"

Yep, and even closer as I'm south of town.

The drive is worth it except during a blizzard.

I just left my NTN joint. The only reason I was able to do so was that I was over at an elementary school on that side of town doing a puberty presentation to all of their 5th grade boys. I was fortunate enough to pop a Countdown score over 14K which made it into the top 20 (13th) nationally and take over the top monthly score for our bar. Well worth the side trip.

Fun. I haven't had to go to a puberty presentation for either of my kids. I don't think that our district offers the classes any more.
