I actually got a Bulwer-Lytton "dishonorable" mention this year for my sentence:

The dame that walked into my office was statuesque and looked like she ought to be standing on a bed of roses … in other words, she looked exactly like the garden gnome my ex-wife had stuck in our flower bed, next to a bird bath that attracted a whole lot of bills, much like my in-tray, which was lousy with them. — Jackie Fuchs, Los Angeles, CA

My extremely limited knowledge of Italian would have cratered me on q5: "Culo" = "butt" = "consolation prize".

Yeah, yeah. More accurately, it was the Greeks who hid in the Trojan horse. But it's still called the Trojan horse, and horrible viruses that you can pick up from indiscriminate net surfing are called Trojans. I'll give them a pass on this one.

Well, perhaps, but still a "Trojan asteroid" is one that shares the same planetary orbit but whch has an angular separation from the planet of 60 degrees either in front or behind, so the question is still flawed.

They don't deserve a pass. It doesn't matter how many things are named after Trojans, the question writers fluffed up their question in a way that was flat-out wrong.

They don't deserve a pass from you, Marley. I'm sure I give lots of passes for things that would never pass muster for a supermajority of Bored denizens. That I don't mention 99% of them helps avoid kerfuffles like these . . . and further, avoiding defenestration for me . . . :D
