Quick note: I fixed an important typo in the question when quoting it. The answers are correct.

There's a lot of math questions this season...or at least it seems like more to me. A question about the equator measured in marathons, and now this. I like it, especially since the death of the clock!

Me overthinking the answer

Simple elementary school trick: Numbers that are divisible by 9 have a sum of digits that is also divisible 9. Since 3 + 8 + 4 + 9 + 1 + 2 = 27, that's our answer. The other three answers fail.

Alternately, add 42,768 to all the answers, and the one that gives 427,680 (or ten times the original number) should work. Only an answer that ends in 2 would work. Or, only an answer that's about 38K would work, since 38K + 4K = 42K.

Or, of course, you could just start doing the math, note that 8 x 9 = 72, which ends in 2, and...once again...B is the only one that works.

This season has featured a bunch of gettable $100K questions, with the notable exception of the Legoland question from last week.

In English, it's pretty common to say "Lord God", and I'm pretty sure that the corresponding phrase is just as common in other languages. In Spanish and German, it comes out Herr Gott and Señor Dios, which could be translated back to English as Mister God. That makes it reasonable to believe that the same is true in Polish. At least more reasonable than Captain God, Dr. God, or Sergeant God.

So, as one who doesn't watch SyndiBAM much (hangs head)...

If I'd used my JTQ on #10 (only one I needed it on) and then on the 100K question ... what would happen? Would I get a new $100K question?

If you jump the $100K question, you go to the $250K question, just as in Round 1.

In addition, in terms of risk/reward, it sets up an interesting situation. If you jump the $100K question, you don't "bank" the $100K. Your current walk-away incentive is the ~$68K (minus whichever question you jumped) from all the round 1 questions. However, the next question is still worth $250K. And the safety net is still $25K.

If you finish the first round with two jumps, then you can jump twice over $100K and $250K, and see the $500K question. Same deal - you win $500K for the question, walk away with $68K, or tumble down to $25K. You're risking only about $43K to win about $432K (as well as a peek at the million dollar question).
