Bad move.

Didn't DC learn the last time they poached an actor who had played a Marvel hero? We got Green Lantern.

My knee-jerk reaction to watching this on my early morning news was "he'll surely kill the franchise"... but after Affleck redeemed himself with Argo a few months ago, maybe we should hold off on the negative reviews until the film actually comes out.

(FWIW, I won't be watching it either way since I lost interest in the Batman films after Batman Forever.)

He'll be playing Batman in the next Superman movie, so he won't have the franchise on his shoulders. --Bob

Give him a chance, for cryin' out loud. No one thought Michael Keaton could pull it off, either. Here's someone who agrees with me.

And there was nothing wrong with Reynolds' Green Lantern that a better script wouldn't have helped. FWIW I liked that movie for its adherence to the Silver Age version of GL. They just tried to stuff too much background into it as an intro to the sequel with Sinestro as the bad guy.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

First look at Affleck and the Batmobile:

If they're going to go retro on the Batears, I'd like to see them go a bit retro on the Batmobile. But that's my personal opinion.

(Besides, one of my "bucket list" items is to ride, or at least sit in, one of the 60s-style Futura-based Batmobiles.)

(And, BTW, I know Bats drove them and they're full of techie toys, but to me the Tumbler ain't no Batmobile.)

Here's the Batmobile designed by the late H.R. Giger, but not used by Batman Forever director Joel Schumacher:
