This reporter interviewed a producer and got lots of fuzzy quotes about the contestants they're looking for.
Rosen specifically mentioned one applicant he met from Harlem. The man was a milkman who entered simply so he could prove to his daughter that he could do it. While it was never said whether or not the milkman made it past the audition, Rosen made the point that anyone could succeed in the show. The only advice he could give was the ideal contestant connects with the viewer.
Minor details!
"We are looking for any type of person," he said. "You don't have to be a rocket scientist to do well on the show."
But being a performer sure helps.
"This is a game anybody can play. Be yourself," he said. "Don't try to appeal to us. This is a game for everybody."
If we don't have to appeal to the producers, they could just have a phone game!

A Milkman? Really? What is he, like 90 years old?
If he's 90 years old, perhaps he's one of the Dead Milkmen....
