ANSWERS/POINTS LS OLD FRANK FRIDAY March 14
Looks like today's Old Fart is Old Blue Eyes! Thinking back, I should have had an Old Featured Fart from the beginning, so I wouldn't have to look up the 285068033 people who sang More, so some such. Looking at future OFF, it appears that I might have figured that out after the first week. Ha!
Since today's artist is obvious, you must identify the song and the MOVIE from whence it came. Sinatra and musicals, two of my favourites! I wish I was playing today. The bonus instrumental is kind of weird, so I've got some additional commentary down below on that.

1. You see a pair of laughing eyes
And suddenly you’re sighing sighs
You're thinking nothing's wrong
You string along, boy, then snap!
2. Who knows where the road will lead us
Only a fool would say
But if you'll let me love you
It's for sure I'm gonna love you
3. There's the stockroom behind McCloskey's Bar
But Missus McCloskey ain't a good scout
And things being how they are
The back of the police station is out
4. The same old tingle that I feel inside
When that elevator starts its ride
Down and down I go, round and round I go
Like a leaf that's caught in the tide
5. Have you heard?
It's in the stars
Next July we collide with Mars
6. There's none so classy
As this fair lassie,
Oh! Oh! Holy Moses, what a chassis
7. I only know what I know
The passing years will show
You’ve kept my love so young, so new
8. It was just one of those nights
Just one of those fabulous flights
A trip to the moon on gossamer wings
9. You're nothing
Nothing if not lovely
Nothing if not dazzling
Nothing but pure gold
10. Doesn't like crap games, with barons and earls
Won't go to Harlem, in ermine and pearls
Won't dish the dirt, with the rest of those girls
I just had this sentence underneath the lyrics sets, so I guess it was a bonus question and there was no instrumental. Or else I just finished writing the question when I posted that day (which I apparently did a lot). Either way it has nothing to do with Frank Sinatra, so who knows what goes on in my mind?
Bonus Question: A style of blues piano playing characterized by an up-tempo rhythm, a repeated melodic pattern in the bass, and a series of improvised variations in the treble.
Bonus Bonus: Or I might have been going for a composition by Clarence Smith, who died at the age of 24 and was better known by this name.

I'm a big fan of 'ol Blue Eyes, but I'm not sure how good I'll be at putting the songs with the movies. Still, here goes...fantine33 wrote:Looks like today's Old Fart is Old Blue Eyes! So I only got one movie and don't know the song. Brilliant. I know Sammy Davis and Dean? I think. sang in Ocean's 11 (which had the greatest ending!) but I don't recall if Frank did. Okay, I suck.

10. The Lady is a Tramp - Pal Joey
Boogie-woogie?
Bonus Bonus: Or I might have been going for a composition by Clarence Smith, who died at the age of 24 and was better known by this name.
Nope
There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

Re: Lyrically Speaking OLD FRANK FRIDAY March 14
I wasn't able to get to scoring this one until now, but that's nice because I see it gave a couple more people a chance to play!
Originally posted August 9, 2002.
1. You see a pair of laughing eyes
And suddenly you’re sighing sighs
You're thinking nothing's wrong
You string along, boy, then snap!
THE TENDER TRAP - THE TENDER TRAP
I gave Marley half credit for the title and, since he managed to describe the entire plot of the movie, I gave him half credit for that as well! I saw this movie (on tv, of course!) when I was a kid and I SO wanted that apartment. It was swingin'!
2. Who knows where the road will lead us
Only a fool would say
But if you'll let me love you
It's for sure I'm gonna love you
ALL THE WAY - THE JOKER IS WILD
One of my favourite "Frank Sinatra" movies. I like a lot of movies in which Frank Sinatra appears, but that is usually only incidental.
3. There's the stockroom behind McCloskey's Bar
But Missus McCloskey ain't a good scout
And things being how they are
The back of the police station is out
THE OLDEST ESTABLISHED PERMANENT FLOATING CRAP GAME IN NEW YORK - GUYS AND DOLLS
For instance, this one. Love, love love it, but because I love Marlon Brando. You got half credit for this one if you managed the words "crap game" in your answer. I also gave full credit for coming within a word or two.
4. The same old tingle that I feel inside
When that elevator starts its ride
Down and down I go, round and round I go
Like a leaf that's caught in the tide
THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC - MEET DANNY WILSON
After I posted this I was so glad that nobody answered Bus Stop, so I didn't have to make a judgment call.
5. Have you heard?
It's in the stars
Next July we collide with Mars
DID YOU EVAH? - HIGH SOCIETY
Maybe a little more obscure, but it's such a great scene (anytime Louis Armstrong is there, it's a great scene) and also one of the few times that Bing Crosby ever looked like he was actually having a good time.
6. There's none so classy
As this fair lassie,
Oh! Oh! Holy Moses, what a chassis
IF YOU KNEW SUSIE - ANCHORS AWEIGH
Mel's reasoned deduction paid off!
7. I only know what I know
The passing years will show
You’ve kept my love so young, so new
TIME AFTER TIME - IT HAPPENED IN BROOKLYN
My favourite Durante/Grahame movie. I tolerated Sinatra and Grayson.
8. It was just one of those nights
Just one of those fabulous flights
A trip to the moon on gossamer wings
JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS - YOU REALLY GOT ME
I didn't check lyrics against answers on this one and the answer key said Someone to Watch Over Me - Young at Heart, so I figured I was good to go. I guess I must've just chosen songs and filled in the movies. Then when I discovered that this wasn't in a movie, I changed it, but just substituted lyrics when I posted the game.
Since there was no answer to this, Mel got the 10 Point Perfect bonus with 190 points.
9. You're nothing
Nothing if not lovely
Nothing if not dazzling
Nothing but pure gold
YOU'RE AWFUL - ON THE TOWN
Tbone, I'm so glad you gave some props to Jules Munshin! I loved him, my brother and I used to sing the "Modern Man" duet he does with Ann Miller constantly. We probably still could, should anyone drop a hat.
10. Doesn't like crap games, with barons and earls
Won't go to Harlem, in ermine and pearls
Won't dish the dirt, with the rest of those girls
THAT'S WHY THE LADY IS A TRAMP - PAL JOEY
And littlebeast pulls out some humour points on the last song!
