I just got told about my raise and bonus for the year.
So after being layed off at a company I worked at for 20 years, temping for a year and a half, being a full time employee for about 9 months now....
I now make more than I ever have, with a nice bonus and a 7 minute commute. The company encourages a good work/family balance, discourages travel to minimize our carbon footprint, gives up to 3 paid days for charitable events (sponsors Habitat builds and Boys and Girls club activities) and truly values the diversity of the employees.
I think I will go back to work and earn all of this!

Sounds like a great place to work. Consider yourself, and I know you do, very fortunate.
Not enought people enjoy what they do, who they do it for, and how much they get doing it.

I am very, very, very, very happy for you! I love it when things work out right.
Now, get back to work and invent Skin Shrink.

Your company sounds too good to be true, christie!
The CEO isn't Hank Scorpio, is he?

Well, at least she can expect the Denver Broncos to show up on her front lawn if he is.
Homer: (reading Hank's letter) "Project Arcturus couldn't have succeeded without you. This will get you a little closer to that dream of yours. It's not the Dallas Cowboys, but it's a start. Drop me a line if you're on the East Coast, Hank Scorpio." (a whole football team is on his lawn) Aw, the Denver Broncos?!
Marge: I think owning the Denver Broncos is pretty good.
Homer: (disheartened) Yeah, yeah.
Marge: Well, explain to me why it isn't.
Homer: (sighs) You just don't understand football, Marge.

Cool to hear how things worked out so well.
This is a nice thing to post for those, BB and other, who are going through a tough time such as a layoff now.

The long road just makes us appreciate it more when we get there.

Sorry I came to this late, but
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
I had a similar bumpy road to the present job that I love.
If your company manufactures consumer products, would you care to mention which ones? I like to patronize companies that have good values.
Love,
