This is incredibly sad. I know its supposed to be funny. If voice from audience had yelled an answer, even the wrong one, he'd have still been in the game.

And while I somehow missed this thread, I did know the kinda-famous answer.

We also find out how "zany" you have to be to charm the interviewers. Gag. My zane even if I could work some up is in the ironic direction, which clearly is *not* what they want.

One million-dollar winner, Kevin, called his mom right after to say, “I chose the right parents.”
How would he know that?

How did Michael know that Kevin said that, you mean? The exchange happened on the air.

You may be right, but I just reviewed Kevin's episode and didn't encounter that exchange.

Aha. He was referring to Kevin Smith, not Kevin Olmstead.

No. As far as I know, he has never met or communicated with anyone in any game show community. I don't know where he lives or if he's still alive. He was younger than he looked on the show. I think he was 53 at the time.

This part is not true. He called his mom to thank her for all she and his father had done for him. In an aside, he mentioned that Malcolm Forbes once replied that when asked what was the single luckiest thing that had happened to him (@ 1:54).

Meredith looks really good in this clip. Hubba hubba!
