Question about the QoD today

I have a question about what one of the choices in the QoD. In other words, I don't know what a polearm is. Can I get that answered before I make my guesses or am I stuck because I am so ignorant?

8. I'm saying polearm but I have my doubts if this is completely accurate. It just doesn't fit anywhere else. I think a polearm usually has some sort of blade or edge. A katana doesn't have that but polearm, final answer.

Okay, I know a few of these from history and literature books I read for Home School High School. My biggest problem is that I don't know what a polearm is. I do know what a pole is, though -- a big stick. Since I like to chew on sticks, I will guess polearm for things that sound like tasty things to eat.

3. Gladius -- Sounds like gladiator, so I guess sword
4. Spetum -- Does not sound tasty. Bow.
5. Yumi -- Yummy? Gotta be a polearm!
6. Falchion -- Sword

8. Katana -- Sword
9. Derringer -- Gun
10. Chu-ko-nu -- Sounds like a stick. Polearm.
11. Flamberge -- Sounds like one of those fancy desserts. Polearm.
