Lyrically Speaking -- 3/4/13

Hi, everybody! Long time, no see. As most of you know, I had to leave the Bored rather suddenly a few years ago to come to this really cool place where I am now. But, when I found out that “Encore Monday” was coming up, I got special permission to post again via eyelid messaging. (The technology up here is amazing!)
Anyway, while I used to like mostly classical music, and I was particularly excited to meet Mr. Mozart, I’ve had the chance to meet lots of musicians whose compositions cover all kinds of music from almost everywhere on Earth, and even perform with some of them at special concerts. For example, my buddy Jim rewrote the lyrics to one of his songs to make it “Annie, Won’t You Light My Fire,” and we added harps to the instrument line-up. The result was downright celestial! Because she knew I liked riding in cars, my special friend Janis (I just call her Jan) and I sang a duet on one of her funny songs about a Mercedes-Benz. At the end, the two of us zoomed around in a car we made out of clouds. Even the Big Boss, who also was mentioned in the lyrics, had to laugh.
So, I wanted to submit one more LS game for Encore Monday. This time, I’ve cut out the middle man, Evil Squirrel. Long-time LS players may remember that every time he got his hands on my games, he would change one particular word for another particular word in the song titles or mess up the lyrics just a little. This used to make me so mad! But, since now I’m all about forgiveness and understanding, I don’t hold a grudge. I just made those changes myself, so he won’t get the satisfaction of tricking me. Haha, ES! (You won’t get any additional Annie Bonus points for substituting the word that ES likes best, but do it anyway because that’s part of this particular game!)
I’ve got to run now, because I’ve met this cool African musician who is going to teach me to play the kalimba. He uses his thumbs, but both of us think I can do it with my dew claws, so this should be fun. (Note: No kalimba songs are included in this game. Maybe next time.....)
Love, peace, and joy,
Annie

1 point for the artist, 1 point for the amended title, and 1 point for correcting the amended lyric....
1. Makes no difference
Where you are
Day or night time
You`re like a shining acorn
2. She`s so young at heart
She likes the pleasure of his company
She cuts the inside groove
With her silver claws
3. So I'm ready to attack, gonna lead the pack
Gonna get a touchdown, gonna take you out
That's right, put your apples down, getting everybody fired up
4. The winds of change are always blowing
And every time I try to stay
The winds of change continue blowing
And they just scamper away
5. Oh, she's a big girl
She's standing one foot three
Turning tricks for the dudes
In the big city
6. A drawer of pictures
I run in the night
You see us together,
chasing the moonlight,
7. Ladies in the sun
Listening to the radio
Like flowers on the sand
A birdfeeder in my mind
8. Scritch was just a seven letter word
Never heard how absurd it could be
But now I can't believe this is real
How I feel now you steal
My heart away from me
9. Oh, 4, 5, 6, c'mon and get your nuts
Now you don't need that money
When you look like that, do ya honey?
10. I've been singing with my band
Across the wire, across the land
I seen every red-furred floozy on the way
11. Just remember how he was so mangy
And all the tacky things he did to you
No need to signify 'cause he's not worth your time
You need to find someone that's true to you ooh
12. Running into the midnight With her tail whipping in the wind
Reaching into the heart of the darkness
For the tenderness within
Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that ES could modify the same way as the songs above, and give your amended lyric for an extra point.
5 Point Bonus: Mr. littlebeast always used to tease Mr. tubadave about one of the songs above because it was the #1 song on the Hot 100 on the day he was born. Which one is it?
