Once again, TPTB is giving away a turn in the Hot Seat to the winner of--not any test of trivia skill, but a random sweepstakes. <sigh>

I shall enter regardless. I may even download the game, since pop culture, especially recent, is one of my weak areas. I should wait on that, though, since I'm due for a new phone soon. Are your downloads and ringtones transferrable?

Oh, I'll mail in a postcard, too, but I don't expect to get to the Hot Seat that way, any more than I expect to buy a winning lottery ticket.

I don't know, but since ringtones are a ridiculously lucrative profit center, I suspect the phone companies make that difficult, if not impossible.

Refresh my memory, please, if you could.

IIRC, there was something very similar a year ago, but involving music instead of <barf> Pop Culture </barf>. Two questions:

1 - Is this contest, in fact, the "same" as last year's (except for the pop-culture aspect)?

2 - If this is the case, does anybody know if last year's winner was subjected to a stack dedicated to music once he/she was in the Hot Seat? Because, if this is the case, it would be even more worthless for me to enter than it would be under normal circumstances. Otherwise - if the winner is likely to play a "regular" stack - I might as well drop a postcard in the mail. After all, it is likely as much of a chance as I will ever have...

1. Yes, I think this is working the same way. WWTBAM has bartered away one turn in the Hot Seat to one of their sponsors.

2. I think this person got a regular stack, but I can't recall who that person was or even if he/she was identified as the sweepstakes winner.

Anyone else remember?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I don't think the winner was identified, so the winner must have gotten a normal stack.

I guess it's possible that the winner of Capcom's "Millionaire Music Edition Mobile Game Sweepstakes" played in an episode that hasn't aired yet. We'll have to wait to see it it's ever mentioned.

Interesting that Capcom is the sponsor of both contests, but last year they were pushing their games on Sprint-Nextel phones and this year it's for AT&T phones. Or has there been merger of those outfits in the last few months?

AT&T bought Cingular. Capcom makes the same game for multiple platforms and phones, so they can offer it to all the purveyors.

Thanks Marley! I hope you win it! (unless they want someone geeky pre senior citizen from the left coast)?
I still haven't gotten over you missing out on the AOL contest 3 yrs ago. At least you lost to a fellow BB, actually you didn't lose, you finished a very strong second! IMHO they should have invited you both to be on the show!

Well, I won it the second time around, but they were offering the wrong prize! :P
