Meterorite hits Russia
A meterorite the size of a bus exploded over the Ural Mountains today. The sonic boom was powerful enough that flying glass and debris may have injured as many as 1,000 people.

I seriously hope this wasn't the "asteroid that will be close but will miss the earth" I've been hearing about lately. Yes, I know a meteorite & an asteroid are not the same thing, but am not so sure the news people reporting know this.

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Did they find an infant near the scene of the explosion who was wrapped up in a red and blue blanket and was mysteriously unharmed?

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I'm guessing Tunguska was lost on most people though. It was on me.... which is why I went straight to the thread that said "meteorite", as I again think most people did.
Whine overruled....

More to the point, Snaxx's vote for my thread lost any influence it might have had, when he chose to post it in this one, instead.
