Nice shout-out, but Ogi would have known about

waterspouts
and would have at least seen the $250K question.

Wow, what a dream stack. I was a girl scout, so I knew

calendars
. In fact, in the 1970's they were still selling them in addition to cookies. I would've been looking at the $250k question with all 3 lifelines intact.

Yeah, this one hurt to watch. Other than the music question which I'd have used the ATA on, I was good through all of his questions, AND I'd rather be remembered as Ken Basin...

More to the point, you can't compare yourself to either player when you're only dealing with the first question of the second tier.

So if Paul was an opera singer (What Else?) why was he fiddling with a conductor's baton while standing at the Hot Blackjack Table? :?

This is another trick they pull in addition to the WWOQ. They know that most of the contestants they select will be young, and they throw in questions like this one that only someone who watched the news at that time would remember. I doubt this is in any history books. Let's call this a TMCATYTRQ (thing most contestants are too young to remember question).

Unless they use the internets. Googling "George H.W. Bush japan vomit*" brings up 9,590,000 hits. It seems to be fairly well documented.

Well documented, yes. But as elwood said, you had to be alive then to remember this. Otherwise, why would anyone google that phrase before seeing the question?

I thought this was a decently known bit of trivia. Kind of hand-in-hand with Bush 2's pretzel incident.

Well, this dude was alive at the time (and I don't see where elwood said that someone had to be alive to know it). But, either way, I don't see how you figure that. I know plenty of whacky stuff that happened to presidents before I was alive.

Anyway, in this particular case.....

I don't remember seeing this until years after it happened. I've now seen it approximately 5486505685033 times on youtube, gifs, retrospectives of all types, etc., etc. And that doesn't even count all of the comics, talk show hosts, commentators and the like who have referenced it 58405898580933 times over the years. It's classic pop culture at this point.

However, none of that matters. This is another case of forget about what the question says and look at what it's actually asking. Of the four answers given, how many of those is it even remotely possible that Dad Bush would have done in public to such a degree that it would become a catchphrase?

Looking at it realistically: The only one he couldn't control....
