Jon formerly designed robots that created parts for Black Hawk helicopters. Now he designs a different type of robots that do "warehouse sortation" for package companies. It's a boring job so he takes his girlfriend out for swing dancing in the evenings. Meredith cues up some music and Jon gives a demonstration. His girlfriend Rachel is in the relationship seat. Jon used to be a lifeguard and the girls called him "Pappy". He thought it sounded fatherly but the girls seemed to like it.
