You got what i need
That wasn't a bad start, now was it? One down, forty nine more to go! The fun never ends in the LSWSE! And now it is time for the first edition of that standard of LS play, Tuesday Wordplay! All 12 of the songs below contain a word in common in their titles. There just isn't much else to say about this game!

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist....

1. So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see eye-to-eye
There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys

We just disagree -- Dave Mason

2. Each day through my window I watch her as she passes by
I say to myself, "You're such a lucky guy"
To have a girl like her is truly a dream come true
Out of all the fellas in the world, she belongs to you

Just my Imagination -- The Temptations

3. it's not the perfume that you wear
it's not the ribbons in your hair
i don't mind you coming here
and wasting all my time

Just What I Needed -- The Cars

4. What's going out on the floor?
I love this record baby, but I can't see straight anymore
Keep it cool, what's the name of this club?
I can't remember but it's alright, alright

Just Do Me -- Octomom

5. Had my hand on the dollar bill
And the dollar bill blew away
But the sun is shining down on me
And it's here to stay

I Just Want To Celebrate -- Rare Earth

6. I found out how good it feels
To have your love, oh-oh, oh-oh
Say you will, will be mine
Forever and always, oh-oh, oh-oh

Just One Look -- Linda Ronstadt?

7. When the blues come cryin' at the break of dawn
When the rain keeps fallin' but the rainbow's gone
When you feel like cryin' but the tears won't come
Then your dreams are dyin' when you're on the run

Just Remember I Love You -- Firefall

8. I keep on wand'ring on the face of this earth
Meeting so many people who are trying to be free
And while I wander I hear so many words
Language barriers broken now we've found the key

9. The moment that I step outside
So many reasons for me to run and hide
I can't do the little things I hold so dear
Cause it's all those little things that I fear

10. I never had a head for solitaire
It`s so unfair
That I`d should have my chance and lose
Feel like I`ve been
Used to help you through another night
You spelled in out in black and white

11. Check the mirror, looking fly
Round up my posse, jump in my ride.
Radio rocking, a monster jam.
Feel the rhythm, pump up the sound.

Just got Paid -- don't know the performer

12. Time and time again I see
A love that seemed strong
Was not meant to be,
Broken hearts don't always mend,
Left too unsure, to try love again.

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that contains the magic word of the day. Just a Gigolo -- david Lee Roth

5 Point Bonus: The artists who did song #10 are best known for performing the theme song to what TV show? Hmmmm. Not many theme songs any more. How about The Rembrandts?

1. So let's leave it alone 'cause we can't see eye-to-eye
There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys
We Just Disagree - Dave Mason (This was the song that played over a montage of umpire/manager conflicts on an old VHS baseball highlights tape I used to have in the 80's. I'm sure the late Earl Weaver was in there somewhere...)

2. Each day through my window I watch her as she passes by
I say to myself, "You're such a lucky guy"
To have a girl like her is truly a dream come true
Out of all the fellas in the world, she belongs to you
Just My Imagination - Temptations

3. it's not the perfume that you wear
it's not the ribbons in your hair
i don't mind you coming here
and wasting all my time
Just What I Needed - Cars

4. What's going out on the floor?
I love this record baby, but I can't see straight anymore
Keep it cool, what's the name of this club?
I can't remember but it's alright, alright
Just Dance - Lady Gaga (From back when her songs were actually fun to listen to)

5. Had my hand on the dollar bill
And the dollar bill blew away
But the sun is shining down on me
And it's here to stay
I Just Want To Celebrate - Rare Earth

6. I found out how good it feels
To have your love, oh-oh, oh-oh
Say you will, will be mine
Forever and always, oh-oh, oh-oh
Just One Look - Doris Troy or Linda Ronstadt

7. When the blues come cryin' at the break of dawn
When the rain keeps fallin' but the rainbow's gone
When you feel like cryin' but the tears won't come
Then your dreams are dyin' when you're on the run
Just Remember I Love You - Firefall

8. I keep on wand'ring on the face of this earth
Meeting so many people who are trying to be free
And while I wander I hear so many words
Language barriers broken now we've found the key
I'm Just A Singer (In a Rock & Roll Band) - Moody Blues

9. The moment that I step outside
So many reasons for me to run and hide
I can't do the little things I hold so dear
Cause it's all those little things that I fear
Just a Girl - No Doubt (You can pretty much count on this song appearing every year, and it was 2013's first shot at the Annie Bonus)

10. I never had a head for solitaire
It`s so unfair
That I`d should have my chance and lose
Feel like I`ve been
Used to help you through another night
You spelled in out in black and white
Just the Way It Is, Baby - Rembrandts (This just blows my mind that this song is not more well known. I used this before in one of my old school LS games, and I remember only one or two players got it then too. It got and still gets some airplay around here, and it was even on Mecca Radio a lot.... it's the song I think of when someone mentions The Rembrandts, not that cheesy "Friends" song...)

11. Check the mirror, looking fly
Round up my posse, jump in my ride.
Radio rocking, a monster jam.
Feel the rhythm, pump up the sound.
Just Got Paid - Johnny Kemp

12. Time and time again I see
A love that seemed strong
Was not meant to be,
Broken hearts don't always mend,
Left too unsure, to try love again.
Just Between You and Me - April Wine

5 Point Bonus: The artists who did song #10 are best known for performing the theme song to what TV show? - Friends

JJC Points:

Weasel gets 2 JJC points for Barney...

frank gets 2 JJC points for making me look up The Pruitts of Southampton, even though I knew what I was going to find when I did so. Can he work a Phyllis reference into every game this year? Seems like a challenge....

mini gets 2 JJC points for going with N*Sync (!?!?!?) on Just Got Paid, and for having great taste in Devo music...

starfish gets 2 JJC points for Justin, Justice, and Justine, and for more countdown references...

smiler gets a supermax for his answers, particularly Just a Wuss and Just An Upton (The Merry Men were the first ones to own him in the BBBL! I traded him to the Quarks for Adam Wainwright before he made his debut in '07....)

Beebs gets a supermax for getting the next best word into every song title...

clem (YAY!) gets a supermax for his usual hilarious answers, and a goddamn Kid N Play mention!!!!

Jessie gets 3 JJC points for showing us that Rick Springfield is obviously trying to channel late career Michael Jackson.... ick!

vettech gets a JJC point for calling the Rembrandts a OHW.... for shame!!!!

elwood gets a JJC point for pulling another bonus out of his ass...

Fanny gets 3 JJC points because I had to take away from her supermax to award a point to Biskit. Poopyhead is jealous...

TBone gets 2 JJC points for Blue Oyster Snooki...

melly gets 2 JJC points for putting business before pleasure...

Marley gets a JJC point for actually recognizing an early 80's rock song, even if he got the wrong title...

Esto gets a JJC point for the info on his former square dancing partner...

mrkelley gets 2 JJC points for Octomom and the Biz Markie reference (I expect them from Fanny, but not from everyone else!)

Weasel 10+2

frank 11+2
mini 26+2

It was from one of those VH1 things like I Love the 80s or 1 Hit Wonders. I forgot Johnny Kemp's name but remember how he said he REALLY got paid once NSync did the remake.

I've been listening to a lot of boy bands lately. You've been warned....

Someone needs to have Phyllis host a game. (How's that for a challenge?)

I got two in today. One of them is better than the other, because it fits the Wednesday theme. The other just fits the lyric.

You know this; you just don't know you know it--it's unavoidable:

One of the One Direction guys really resembled Stephen's best friend when he had the longer hair. Harry Styles is funny to watch in the videos--he never seems to be paying attention unless he's the one singing. ADD king...

OK, so your Harry Styles is the Harry on the posters in Stationery..... I couldn't tell with that beautiful avatar you chose for him.... :P

You totally underestimate my ability to avoid pop culture nowadays too! The Baby Baby Baby chorus does seem kind of familiar, but the song as a whole most definitely does not. I still wouldn't know Gangnam Style if it whacked me upside the head, and I hear references to it all the time (that replaced Harry as the cover boy for our poster selection just last week).....

Not necessarily so. Youngest daughter is emo, and the next one has long had eclectic taste.

By eclectic I mean Led Zeppelin, Sam Cooke, Bob Dylan, King Tuff.

Granddaughter - Radio Disney -ugh!

And I am the only person in my house who has seen Gagnam Style video and that happened to be w/o sound.

That's what I meant--it's hard to get stuck in a musical rut with all sorts of stuff getting dragged in by the kids. Stephen listens to rap and hard rock, Mini-me is into classic rock so I'm educating HIM on the goodies and he's passing it on to his middle school, and Erin is the Pop Princess...

BTW, the other day I heard the Jim Carroll Band version of "Sweet Jane" which I figured you would appreciate. Shows what a variety is out there. Also, I wish Carroll could have finished his novel. I bet it would be a great read.

But it's too late.

To fall in love with Sharon Tate...

(I'd turn my kids on to that, too, only they'd need the history lesson that goes with it. *sigh* Mini-me is reading Animal Farm and I told him how that correlated to "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" and his face just lit up and I was thinking I may have pointed him in the direction of an English project!)
