Shameless Bragging

#1 Post by christie1111 » Fri Mar 07, 2008 10:09 am

Daughter1111 has just won an award which makes me extremely proud. It is for her referree-ing of both soccer and basketball for the local community center. Although only a small local award, the fact of her being singled out for her terrific attitude just makes me soooo proud.

Oh, and it is the second time she won it, the last when she was in 5th grade for her sportsmanship on her soccer team.

I think I am going to go change my avatar for the day in her honor!

Son1111 is still giving us completly bad attitude about school, so this is a welcome relief.

Gratz to daughter1111 for this award. Good referees are hard to find and suffer a lot from unthinking parents.

One of Emma's coach's 14 year old daughter had the F-bomb thrown at her by a mother/coach. Everyone knew about the mother and her antics, so one of the parents had been filming her during the game. When the daughter said that the woman has been cussing at her, she denied it on the grounds that she was a "good Christian woman." Luckily there was videotape to prove her wrong and she ended up being red carded.

Congratulations to your daughter. Two of the most unappreciated groups in society are the people who coach and officiate youth leage sports. My hats off to her.
