Cruise In and Win Week

Meg Arbo
Galloway, NJ

Meg is about to face her question to win a Disney cruise. Meg has wanted to be on this show for thirteen years; she's tried a few times before, passed the test and talked to the producers, who've said "thanks, but no thanks."

Meg has been on a cruise once before, when she got rained on at every port of call.

I think the new, wide-screen TVs in the studio have convinced the writers that their questions can be twice as long as they used to be!

Since Meg never stated where she thought the commas were, when she so rapidly recited the pledge, I'm not sure if she was just punctuating it incorrectly or if she didn't understand the question. If it was the former, I can't see how she thought it was "to the, republic, for which it stands".

I wouldn't say she overanalyzed since she didn't try to insert commas when reciting the pledge.

Answer
A: Snake bite
Since snakes are more widespread than elephants or sharks and avalanches are generally confined to regions where there are few people it makes sense that A is the right answer. However had I been in Meg's place I probably would have used a JTQ (if I still had one - I wouldn't have needed one for today's stack but don't recall how I might have done on the first part).
