How in the world would anyone (aside from Alabama whiskey drinkers) know this answer? If Conecuh Ridge is supposedly a well-known geographical landmark, I don't see any Google references to it, except those related to the whiskey.

For a bill that's usually just a formality to brown-nose some particular constituency, this one appears to have been more controversial than usual.

The resolution was vetoed by Governor Bob Riley, but the legislature overrode his veto. Amid controversy, the Alabama House of Representatives later tried to repeal the declaration of the official state spirit, but the Senate failed to consider the repeal.

I would say he was quick-witted and sharp-tongued, but not acid-tongued like Ramsay. And he got his start as an author with Kitchen Confidential and not as a celebrity chef. But I did not know this. Maybe I would have gotten it since I know he loves Japan, but maybe not. I enjoyed reading Kitchen Confidential.
