Kathy got a fortunate stack, with most of the low-level questions remaining at the beginning of the stack. Level 9 is often where the WWOQs are (TPTB's denial of the evidence notwithstanding) but the glutes were a big enough clue, in this case.

Silly me! I thought chowder was soup, Rachel! :P

Another obscure question at Level 10--but that's just a coincidence, right, TPTB?

I had a vague recollection of this subject being discussed on the Bored, before.

A huge save from the audience's fourth (fifth) lifeline, here! I'm guessing Kathy had no clue who Neil Armstrong was?

Answer
C: Mount McKinley
Kathy asks the key question, but I'm guessing that history is not in her wheelhouse. And Meredith's attempt to be helpful by emphasizing an important phrase turned out to lead Kathy further away from the answer, this time.

Oy, this is one of those transcripts that is tough to sit through. Neil Armstrong? Not knowing where McKinley is? Not nearly as bad as that guy in the bow tie a few weeks ago, but, still.

TPTB are clearly aware of the audience lifeline, I guess they've just conceded that it's something that can't really deal with?
In this town, don't we love it now, everbody's waiting for the next surprise!

I don't buy that. Keeping the audience in line is part of the warm-up comedian's job. He spends lots of time coaching them on how to applaud and laugh and react correctly for the camera--at the tapings I attended two weeks ago, we even had to retape a laughter segment because our natural laughter wasn't loud enough. In the same vein, he really needs to push the audience when they're giving inappropriate feedback.

Maybe if Paul cut down on shilling for his comedy show, he'd have time for policing the fourth lifeline.

I'd try ATA on this one.

Kathy apparently didn't know (or remember) that Alaska was once a Russian possession. I precalled "Denali" for the answer.
