Jackie Nadel
New York, NY

Jackie almost deleted the voice mail from WWTBAM producers because the caller ID appeared blocked. She figured it would be her father and that she would just call him directly. At the last minute, she saw a NY number that could be WWTBAM and listened instead.
She brought her boyfriend Brian and buddy John

Interesting question wording. When we were given our backstage game tutorial, Producer Rich told us that if a question ever asked something like "Which of these Supreme Court Justices...", then we can be sure that all the choices are Supreme Court Justices. I think the other example he gave was a question regarding someone who had stolen the remains of a dead celebrity in 19XX, and that we could assume that all 4 celebrities listed were dead at the time.

Yet the only reason I got this was because I know the other three are still working.

Rich didn't specify that guideline on that tape date, and, bam, Jackie gets that question.

Ahh, I think I spot the difference there but I see what you mean. "Which of these _____" says that THESE are the described dealy. Whereas "What now-retired newscaster" means that it could be any of them, and the hint is in the qualifier....now-retired, which is why you spotted it that exact way.

Tricky tricky....those little turns of phrases to parse, while your heart's racing? :!: Yikes!

Of course but bar drink menus usually have more exotic drinks on them. I knew this because my parents drank them.

All you needed to know to answer this is that Gibson is the name of a drink. But most current bargoers are probably not familiar with it. The question might have been easier if one of the choices had been Brian Sexonthebeach or Chris Slipperynipple.

I don't mean that question was tricky, I was responding to the subtle differences in the hint words they sometimes have in the beginning of a question, regarding the section that I quoted from hanzz and hss501. "Which of these" versus "What". Clearly, a Gibson is a cocktail, I don't drink anything but scotch and even I know that. Here the main body trivia info is the drink, but if you don't know that you can use the hint to puzzle it out a different way, using the newscasters career status. It's like an invisible fourth lifeline in some questions. But a tricky one I think, in that in the moment with loud music might be a hard time to detect which way the hint leans, even if you're normally pretty sharp.

Anyway, can I have a drink now?
