Whenever you see a contestant jump an easy-looking first question, they're guaranteeing safe passage from this nightmare.
By the way, when I saw there were three contestants today, and I saw this question come up, I knew exactly what mistake Patricia was about to make. It's like when the babysitter in the slasher flick runs upstairs. Yelling at the screen tends not to work.

Let's see -- Nothing on 1, abc on 2, def on 3, ghi on 4, jkl on 5, mno on 6 ... 6, final answer.
OK, I checked the phone -- Whew!

So that's why they take away our cell phones before we tape!
That question was the Millionaire nightmare scenario... a perfectly logical Q to work out with no lifelines needed, as long as you eventually realize there aren't any digits on the '1' key.
I was shocked that she was wrong until I thought about it and realized the '1' key is for all my symbols on my circa-1990 Zack Morris cell phone.
Glad she's local, so at least she doesn't have to use the 1K to recoup travel expenses.

I don't think she's going to make it.

When she started out putting "ABC" on the "1" key I figured she'd miss it, and sure enough she did.
