This summer, I saw someone wearing a shirt saying "Keep calm and chive on". I had no idea what it meant, at the time, but apparently The Chive is a popular website.

95% sure? And what evidence do they have for that assertion?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2 ... ti-bigfoot
A two-day expedition to the region's Azassky cave and Karatag peak over the weekend "collected irrefutable evidence" of the yeti's existence there, the Kemerovo government claimed in a statement. "In one of the detected tracks, Russian scientist Anatoly Fokin noted several hairs that might belong to the yeti," it added. Scientists also found footprints, a presumed bed and various other markers.
Unidentified hairs, footprints and other markers, huh? And what kind of "scientists" are these people?
"I know they exist – I see them every day," a conference participant, Robin Lynn, said by telephone from Kemerovo. She says she has a family of 10 yeti-like creatures living on her land in the US state of Michigan.
Uh huh.
Last month, it welcomed former heavyweight boxing champion Nikolai Valuev on a search for the yeti. The 7ft "beast from the east" reportedly failed in his quest.
You probably scared them off, Nikolai! :P

I figured it was either Tubman or Stowe (although if Abe Lincoln can be a vampire hunter why couldn't Mary be a spy? ). I'd have to JTQ also.

I've never seen this, and "British" makes me think of either "cheerio" or "tally-ho". I'd have to ATA on this one and hope that it's more well known in NYC than it is in the sticks.

No doubt about this one - supposedly those who contracted cowpox were later immune to smallpox.

This would have been a very rough stack for me.

"1939" should have been a hint that it was a war-time morale poster. Cheerio and tally-ho don't quite work under those circumstance.

Reading the Wikipedia article further is interesting. The poster was rediscovered by someone in 2000. Because the Crown trademark had expired by then, people were free to reproduce and sell it (and various derivative versions). Now some company has trademarked it and is trying to keep all the rights to themselves.

Oh, I dunno - I can see something like "cheerio and keep a stiff upper lip". Funny, I'm reading Connie Willis' science fiction dyad "Blackout" and "All Clear" and there hasn't been a mention of that slogan.
