RIP Suzanne Pagella Wangler

#1 Post by VAdame » Sun Mar 02, 2008 2:14 am

I guess this happened last weekend, but I only learned about her death yesterday. I'm still shocked & terribly sad that a nice little kid I used to know had such a terrible end. Any Detroit area Bored Buddies know her, or follow the story?

Suzanne & I didn't exactly grow up together -- she was 6 years younger that I am -- it's more like I grew up with her big brother Joel & cousin Ron, and she grew up with my youngest sister Rosemary. But she was one of the kids who was always around the neighborhood. I hadn't seen her in years, but I was always kind of amused to think that Ro's little friend grew up to be a famous TV anchorwoman in her adopted town of Detroit! I didn't know anything about the downward spiral her life had taken in recent years.

Ro spent some time with her at their 25th reunion last summer. She said Suzanne was in good spirits, talking a lot about her kids. Although Ro thought she might be having some major medical issues -- she seemed to have an Infusaport (a device for giving chemo) in her chest. But she didn't talk about that. Rosemary was surprised that Suzanne had a DUI arrest last summer, since she was drinking soda at the reunion -- of course, I know that people can & do relapse even after years of sobriety sometimes!

Anyway, my heart & prayers are going out to Suzanne's family -- she left 4 young kids behind. Her poor mom was the one who found her body.

BTW, the photo with the article is awful -- I think it's a mug shot. She also had a botched nose job a while back & told Ro she ended up with a "Michael Jackson" nose!

This one's much nicer:

Damn! I just don't know what else to say :(

What a sad, sad story. May her soul find peace. May her children remember their mother only at her best.

That is a very sad story.

How old are her kids? I am glad that they didn't find her body.

Her kids are 15, 13, 12 & 10. I believe their dad has custody. Here's the story from our hometown paper:

How sad for her family, and all those who loved her. My prayers are with all of them.
