Anything Non-Olympics and Non-Political Going On?
Just wanted to start something for everything else that may be going on out there, since I care about neither subject....
Hey, we've actually gotten a fair dose of rain the last 36 hours! And it's a bit cooler....

I do not recognize some of those words you wrote, such as "rain" and "cooler." Could you ask Sprots to use them in sentences for me?littlebeast13 wrote: Hey, we've actually gotten a fair dose of rain the last 36 hours! And it's a bit cooler....

It's as good as asked!
Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

I am on holidays, and enjoying watching the Oly.... er, enjoying the warm weather and downtime.
Our union, and the gover....er, I am on holidays and enjoying the warm weather and downtime.
Mistycat has decided that she really likes it here, and "none of that canned paste like crap, please. gravy and meat pouches only, thekyew."
Mamma Mia was fantastic, and we had a great "girls day out" My dad is showing signs of Alzheimer's so mom really needs to get away and have some respite, so we are going to go to a place called Tigh Na Mara, here on Vancouver Island for an overnight and a luxury spa.
Did I mention that I am on holidays? 3 whole weeks.

Felt downright chilly this morngin. Of course, that could be due to being acclimated to the heat as of late.

Last night I dreamt I had a Guinea pig! That ate Long John Silver's and was actually made of fish itself! He was realllly cute. And self-feeding.

Meanwhile, AlphaDaughter is watching a show on the Science channel centered on a store called Obscura. Creepy stuff sold there. Including an honest-to-God kidney stone the size and shape of a large mushroom. Beast and Ace...beware.

I still have my 5 mm one from May in my Minnesota shot glass, though it doesn't look like a mushroom, just a dried up cockleburr....

And let me switch real for rain to make a sentence with rain, since one has been requested.

Re: Anything Non-Olympics and Non-Political Going On?
Well, I felt I was in danger of losing my life today.........OK, technically only in danger of being bored to death, but OhEmFreakingGee! After almost two years of my on-line fishing expedition, I went to meet a local guy today........my first actual face-to-face meeting and oh, brother! Two and one-half hours of my life pissed up a rope......almost literally. We met at Cracker Barrel at 3:00 p.m. and when they seated us and put the menus in front of us, he says, "We don't want to eat, do we?" No, fumduck......that's why we met at a restaurant! So I drank copious amounts of tea while he droned on about...........hell, I don't even remember.
C'mon, Gramps! I know you're out there........just waiting for your sweet, sensual, mild-mannered DK.

Same here, Saucy. The caregiver role can be trying, but it also is most certainly an eye opener about the heart's capacity to love and endure.

Re: Anything Non-Olympics and Non-Political Going On?
One of my co-workers, 52 and twice divorced, had a "HOT", 15 year younger online "boyfriend". Problem is he has 3 young kids, is behind in child support and every single "date they had was either dutch treat or she paid. I told her that is NOT a boyfriend.
Foolishly in love, she agreed to go with him to the mountains white water rafting over the 4th of July holiday. She is strapped for money herself, so I told her to make sure he was paying - he did the inviting after all. Oh, yes, his treat!
Needless to say, she ended up paying for the whole trip. Thank God she has dumped him for good, but it took way longer than I thought necessary!!!

Of course, there are always new baby pictures. Harper just turned 6 months old and is sitting up quite nicely now. Not crawling, but she can roll across the entire room and if I don't watch carefully, she's under the sofa in about 2 seconds!

Sadly, those kinds of out there in droves. While I was sort of tongue in cheek about the guy's money, that really is a criteria for me.........always has been and might be one of the reasons I've been single since 1975. My base line is the guy has to have AT LEAST as much money/assets as me..........and that's not an unreasonably high standard.kayrharris wrote:One of my co-workers, 52 and twice divorced, had a "HOT", 15 year younger online "boyfriend".
