Stale movie review but still fun! The Birds

Rewatched The Birds tonight and, after certain people got over their annoyance with the guy/girl/mother dynamics and decided to go to sleep, I was able to finish the movie.
Hitchcock really was quite brilliant. Forget that Tippi Hedren was a crappy actress-watching her get pecked for that was worth it.
But, the whole grandfather's eyeball gone scene, Suzanne Pleshette lying on the sidewalk, birds hovering, Angela Cartwright!, the final scene as they left.
I see where Stephen King got a lot of impetus, in the "make normal stuff go batshit crazy in incremental ways" from Hitchcock. For his books, not necessarily his movies, most of which are worse than his books.
The Birds was definitely re-creepy. Even after all these years.
