I bet you could buy a hammer at the Dollar Tree, but it'd be as useful as that guy's opinion. Nickelback concerts are fun--my son had teenage girls getting the security guy to pass him their phone number on a napkin at one, and he got high-fived by the lead singer of Papa Roach at another. It ain't Beethoven, but a Beethoven concert ain't as much of a party.Sistine Fanny wrote:Not surprising that some dumbass who thinks you can buy a hammer for a dollar thinks it's cool to dis Nickelback.
Meanwhile, Rainbow Donkey sez....

Now you just know that I'm going to have to stop the next time I pass a dollar store to see if I can find a hammer....minimetoo26 wrote: I bet you could buy a hammer at the Dollar Tree, but it'd be as useful as that guy's opinion. Erin wants the Unicorn Bicycle. I bet Rain Man secrectly covets it--he's a closet Brony...
Huh? Where did you get that from? Of course he doesn't like them. He was expressing his opinion and trying to be funny (whether he actually was funny or not may be debatable), but I don't think that makes him a "hater."Sistine Fanny wrote: So sorry, I didn't realize that calling a band banal and meaningless, suggesting that their musical talent is poorer than someone who watched a video for a few hours and thinks that knocking yourself in the head with a hammer would be preferable to listening to their music actually meant that he likes them.....
Does this make you a hater? What do you want to bet that this cat couldn't pick out the melody to Ode to Joy on the guitar with both hands, a GPS and a boy scout to help him?

It's not obvious that pictures of a rainbow donkey bicycle and a guinea pig in a Radio Flyer quoting Chamillionaire are an attempt at humour? (Whether one actually finds them funny or not is a separate matter....)He was expressing his opinion and trying to be funny (whether he actually was funny or not may be debatable), but I don't think that makes him a "hater."
Quite possibly. But it might also just be that a guitar player would be more likely to get the joke. (For all I know you could be one and still not get it, but that's okay. I won't hate you for it....)Does this make you a hater? What do you want to bet that this cat couldn't pick out the melody to Ode to Joy on the guitar with both hands, a GPS and a boy scout to help him?

Ha! Kind of like how Dave Grohl gets up on his little soapbox and calls out everybody that he, in his grand, glorious artistic opinion, doesn't deem 'authentic' enough.littlebeast13 wrote: And while I can take or leave Nickelback myself, it pisses me off because it puzzles me how a band can became as successful as Nickelback has become if they really fit all the clever comparisons he gave in his "review". Sounds to me like another music "buff" who just can't stand musicians who "sell out"....
I'm sure Chad Kroeger's laughing all the way to the bank at this "review". I wonder what Josh Gross thought of Lynyrd Skynyrd when they passed through Boise back in the day.....

Everyone talks about the banality of evil, but nobody ever talks about the evil of banality....littlebeast13 wrote:Sistine Fanny wrote:It's not obvious that pictures of a rainbow donkey bicycle and a guinea pig in a Radio Flyer quoting Chamillionaire are an attempt at humour? There is nothing humourous about rainbow donkeys..... they are pure, unbridled evil....

Rainbow Donkey has come so far from the first one, but . . . that it should come to this!littlebeast13 wrote:Sistine Fanny wrote:It's not obvious that pictures of a rainbow donkey bicycle and a guinea pig in a Radio Flyer quoting Chamillionaire are an attempt at humour?
