His grandmother has been "subtly" prodding him to be on the show - since 1999 she's been calling him. When he was a freshman in college she called to tell him that "Regis says that you can call in and be on the show". She watches the show religiously.

Maybe Denmark had joined the modern trend of having a wide variety of names (and name spellings) which provoked the government to adopt this approved names list. Traditionally, though, that wouldn't have been necessary. The custom used to be that the oldest boy was named after the paternal grandfather and the oldest girl after the maternal grandmother, and so forth through the list of relatives, so that the same limited set of names kept repeating generation after generation.

In any event, I think Magnus and Mathilde would be less common names than some others, then and now.
