AMC theaters are doing their "Best Picture" showcase tomorrow...All 5 Best Picture nominees, back to back, starting at 11 AM. $30, including all the popcorn you can stuff into your face over 10 hours.
But unfortunately, it's SOLD OUT in the ONE AMC theater here in Pittsburgh...so I'm gonna have to go to 3 different theaters to see the nominees piecemeal. On the plus side, one of them ("Michael Clayton") is playing at a $1 theater...and I can skip "Juno" since I didn't think it was all that terrific the first time I saw it. I should be able to catch "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" before 6 PM (matinee pricing!), but I'll probably have to pay full price for "Atonement". But when you add it all up:
Atonement - $8
Blood - $5.50
Old Men - $5.50
Clayton - $1
That's only $20! I'm actually saving $10 (and popcorn's not on my diet anyway!).
Of course, I'll probably spend that much in gas going from theater to theater....

What I WAS going to do with my Saturday...
There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

But the unlimited popcorn was what really made that package deal valuable!KillerTomato wrote: That's only $20! I'm actually saving $10 (and popcorn's not on my diet anyway!).
Unless you factor in the cost of the soda needed to wash all that popcorn down.
