Hagar the Horrible is drawn by Chris Browne, son of creator Dik Browne. He lives here in Sioux Falls, because a couple of years ago he was giving a speech at local Augustana College (whose mascot is the Vikings) and he was so warmly treated he decided to stay.

It's not Columbus, it's not independence and it's not the Civil War. Salem witch trials were in the 17th century.

I think he might have been able to come up with this if he'd taken a little more time.

He was fixated on Hagar as a caveman when in fact Hagar is a Viking. I don't get the joke, but I did get the right answer.

I remember the Snooki visit being in the news last year, while I was down in NJ. Not only was she paid such a huge speaking fee, there were only a couple hundred or so tickets (free tickets!) distributed for the event.

None of the other cartoons are set in the age of the dinosaurs, while The Far Side frequently dealt with scientific humor (even when, in this case, it indulged in deliberate anachronisms).

The Thagomizer even has its own Wikipedia page! 8)

Lessee -- Garfield's a cat, Hagar's a Viking, Broom-Hilda's a witch, and the Far Side could be anything. My guess would be Far Side, but I'm not chancing it. JTQ.
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller

I remember the cartoon (which was not a "strip"). No problem.
