Minor issue with the DJ. GW had given him our credit card information early last week to charge the deposit and nail down the DJ and the date. I happened to look at our recent activity online (which I recommend to everyone as a once-a-week activity), and realized that there was no charge made. She called the boss today about it, concerned that something had happened with the date and/or DJ. No issue, except for the agency. His credit card machine had gone down, and the replacement was taking forever to come in. He said he had a backlog of charges to enter, and was apologetic over our concerns.
GW was wondering if my lingering cold is really an allergy to the mustiness of all those comics which have resided in our unfinished basement for so long. I haven't noticed a correlation between handling them and my days of sneezing and blowing, but I'll keep track from now on. Meanwhile, I continue to call geese today.
Gotta call the hotel nearest to the venue and get a block of rooms reserved. I will do the same for a place either near our home or halfway between the two sites. I'm still undecided which is better for those folks who will be travelling and taking part in the ceremony and pre-ceremony events, which take place in both areas. Near home is cheaper, but requires more travel to the venue, not a great prospect for those unfamiliar with the area and weekend summer traffic. The driving directions are simple from either location, and going to the wedding site should be off-time and against the main flow. Getting back to their hotel may be more of an issue.
