We got:
Hawkins - both of them in on it now. Did Jake give the guy keys to the handcuffs. Does that guy know he did that and does Jake know he knows?
Gray or is it Grey? - Do we really think this weenie man can make waves in Cheyenne? It's like having me buy that Eric grew a set as well.
Ravenwood - They are back!
I kinda like this "let's get Texas to side with us" thing.
OK, now that I've seen the episode, here are my comments...
1. I find it hard to believe that a "nation" that has just gone through a nuclear disaster is already together enough to be able to publish high-quality history textbooks in quantities sufficient to make them available for small backwater towns like Jericho.
2. UN peacekeepers on the Mississippi? Hudson River virus? I wonder if these are things that would have been part of the regular season had the show not been cancelled and then revived. The episodes seem "telescoped" to me.
3. There are a lot of stories in Jericho that have been left hanging, such as the boy with the grocery store and his girlfriend, the girl who ran the tavern (Eric's paramour, IIRC), Jake's other girlfriend, etc. Again, this is probably the result of having to collapse the season into 7 episodes.
4. I find it hard to believe that a reporter who claims 2 Pulitzers would be stupid enough to use a government-regulated phone, especially after Jake warned him not to do so. I figured, though, that he wouldn't be long for this world.
5. Does Jake do magic tricks at parties? I figure that that's the reason for the physical confrontation with Chavez - to pass the handcuff keys to him.
6. Once again we get a hint of what Jake was up to in the pre-bomb days ("Do you know what's in my file?"). Perhaps there was more explanation but I can't remember what it was.
7. I doubt that Gray Anderson will raise much of a fuss at the Constitutional convention - and I agree with Eric that this seems highly irregular. It seems to me that Cheyenne should be claiming to be the successor of the United States, not forming a new rump state.
8. I'm still wondering if there's some connection between the choice of Columbus as the seat of the "remnants of the Federal government" and Hawkins' assignment (his bomb was supposed to go there).
