I don't remember the cabinet meeting, specifically, but I think there was a 60 Minutes piece on them? Rising sea levels threaten to make their whole archipelago of islands disappear. Malta's the only real distractor among the choices (the other two are continental nations), but the Nazis dropped a lot of bombs on Malta in WWII, without making it sink!

The new government of Mohamed Nasheed abolished the ministries of the previous regime, and created 14 new ministries.

His cabinet also holds the notable disstinction of having the world's first underwater cabinet meeting, which was held to highlight the danger of global warming and climate change in 2009,[6] shortly after the United Nations' General Assembly's Opening Session where small island states like the Maldives called for a concerted effort to tackle the phenemenon.

This is a real problem for some Pacific islands. Nations like Tuvalu are losing land area to the sea, and may disappear entirely. According to Wikipedia, global warming may not be the cause.
