T-shirts are being distributed to poor people in Nicaragua. I'll just assume they don't have e-bay accounts...

This is done every year.
It's just getting more attention because it was a failed attempt at a perfect season.

Do you have a source for this?
The reason I ask is that I saw a news feature just before or after the Super Bowl, in which a big t-shirt printer said that by NFL license, any shirts pre-printed with the wrong winner had to be destroyed. For that reason, the interviewee said that his company wouldn't begin until one team or the other had put the victory away.
I would be happier if shirts went to somebody somewhere who could use them.

Thanks! Now I'm wondering if the t-shirt printer was BS-ing.

I could see them doing this with forgettable Super Bowl also-rans, but the team that was one win away from perfection!?!?!?
There are scavengers boarding planes to Nicaragua as we speak to kill the natives and take their new T-shirts to put on e-Bay, where they would fetch a pretty penny....

I'm not an expert on the silk screen process but couldn't they take all the non-winner shirts and silk screen a big red "Not!" across them? The they would be correct and I would be willing to bet that every Giant fan who purchased a winner's shirt would also like one of these.

I suspect that this printer was refering to shirts to be printed for the general public. They no doubt create a supply to be sold at the venue and given to the team that night. But I doubt they start making mass quantities for the general public until they know for sure.
The relatively limited number of shirts that were made and sent to the stadium are no doubt the ones they are giving away.
I am sure the kids like those XXXL sizes. Makes a nice tent for the whole family...

That is a great idea!
I bet the losing team's disgrace would out weigh any money the NFL could make from the fee they would get from the licensing thingie.
