Sliver's Dress

#1 Post by christie1111 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 7:55 pm

Was on Oprah today as part of the 'How to look good naked' show.

At least it looked like the same stunning dress.

This seems like one of those 'when did you stop beating your wife questions'!

The dress looked terrific though!

You have to ask?

I've seen the dress on the cover of my Ann Taylor catalogs for a couple of weeks now, in both orange and the blue color. It's obviously a very popular style dress.

I don't understand.

Why would they need dresses on a show with that title? :P

It's Oprah, siily.

I saw just a few moments of this show and most of the time the women were in their underwear - not naked.

If I could stand that guy - Carson something - I think I would learn stuff about me and my relationship to my body.

What I did get from a part of that show:

Men don't so much get repulsed by a little cellulite or jiggliness.

Carson Kressly probably. He used to be on Queen Eye for the Straight Guy.

I confess that I probably would never have bought this dress if I had known it was on the catalog cover or been featured on the television show. I'm glad I didn't know. I like the dress, and I consider it a good value for the price from the standpoint of fabric and construction.

This reflects absolutely no objection to catalogs, Oprah, Carson K., or anything else. I simply don't want to wear it and have anyone think, "Oh, there's that dress again." So, I may wear it only around people who don't shop at Ann Taylor or watch Oprah. :)

I think it shows you have excellent taste in clothing. :) They don't put just any old dress on the cover, you know.

I never watch Oprah, I'm trying to get all the catalogs stopped by using that website to stop them and I haven't seen one person here wearing that dress, so I think you're safe to wear it as much as you like. JMHO, of course.

I appreciate your point of view. I hate looking like I am copying - especially when I didn't know I was doing something that others are copying.

I also think that dress looks like da bomb on you.

On Oprah, they put this dress on a very curvy woman. It looked great on her. I am not so curvy. IMO, it looks great on me. That is a tribute to the wrap dress.
