When Tim Tebow is with his third or fourth team as a backup QB some announcer will say, "Remember back in 2011 when he was a national sensation?"

I think Theisman has the right attitude about the whole media hype surrounding him -- "Let's enjoy this circus while it's in town."

Although, who knows? One of the announcers at Sunday's game said that Elway had committed to working with Tebow in the off-season to bring up his entire game. Maybe, with experience and extra coaching, he will be a first-rank QB one of these years. For now, I'm enjoying the show.

I don't know about the five years part, but "manias" like Tebowmania always go down in popularity. Remember back in '99 when that show that had the phrase "Is that your final answer?" was such a sensation?

Last time I checked the most important stat was posting a W at the end of the game. Lots of purdy passers out there who are now afterthoughts.

If he can keep winning games there is a good change he will stick around awhile. If he doesn't then he will indeed most likely become an afterthought as well.

For now I am content to give him the benefit of the doubt.

You are anti-Tebow because of........?

Let me guess.

The media is are the ones making a big deal of him. But right now he is Has won 6 straight. With the help of the rest of the team.

There are more experienced QBs out there that would take half that (romo romo romo).

How many QBs have their own website? http://www.timtebow.com/

I'm not anti-Tebow (or pro-Tebow either for that matter). I just think he is getting too much credit. The Broncos are winning in large part because their defense is playing well and they have faced a weak schedule during this streak.

Actually I was thinking it would be a good idea for the Cowboys to acquire him so that Romo can just play the first three quarters and they can bring in Tebow to play the fourth quarter.

The Heat are already in front of the Cowboys in the phone queue.....

I've already told the fam that the Streak of Miracles comes to a screeching halt this week. Because, while God might like Tim Tebow more than He likes Marion Barber, we all know that He loves Tom Brady....

Meanwhile, Tebow's most impressive miracle of all might be to come because he's on the verge of making me a Broncos fan. Normally the God Squadders annoy the crap out of me, but for some reason I'm okay with him because I think that he actually lives it in his heart. Plus it seems that all of the people currently hanging on his jock affect him just about the same as all of the people ragging on him. Which is to say not much one way or the other.

But I don't think he gets enough credit for the Broncos winning because of the team playing well, particularly the D. Because his biggest strength might be that he makes the people around him better just by being there. He's like the Lil' Wayne of the NFL....

I don't really care too much either way about Tebow but I do respect the absolute sincerity of his convictions. What I enjoy about this run of his is the frustration he gives to the "expert" talking heads who have been predicting his demise and pointing out his deficiences that make it impossible for him to win that next game for the last six weeks without being right even once.

Tebow's quarterback rating is a 83.9. The league average is 84.8. He is a rookie.

Cam Newton's is a 81.1.
Mark Sanchez is a 83.1
Araron Rodgers as a rookie was 39.8.
Philip Rivers 4th year (2nd year as a starter) was 82.4.
Colt McCoy in his 2nd year is a 74.6. He was a 74.5 last year as a rookie.
Eli Manning in his 1st four years was 55.4 (rookie), 75.9, 77.0, 73.9.
Drew Brees in his 2nd year (1st as a starter) was 76.9. His next year a stellar 67.5.
Peyton Manning in his rookie year (as a starter) was a 71.2.

Tom Brady beats Tebow in all years he played more than 1 game.

So Tebow looks to be the 2nd best to Brady.

5 years from now they'll be expanding Canton to make room for the Tebow hall. O.K. maybe not, but based on the facts above, he will be there someday. But 5 years from now, barring some idiotic move by Denver, he'll already have established home field throughout the playoffs, with the exception of the AFC championship because TJ Yeats will have a better record at Houston. :)

He had one year above 80 and that was his 2nd year and it was only 81.6.

Since he's been reformed he's had a 93 and a 100, but has dropped the last two years.

Ho Ho Ho!

This was very funny!

Thanks for this amusing yarn, BiT!

PS Only way Tebow's getting in the Hall of Fame will be the same way I do- by paying admission.

PPS Ben Roethlisberger had a 98.1 and 98.6 QB rating his first two years in the league.

He's only had two seasons with a rating below 95.

... they will be talking about that play. The one where Tebow defeated the Steelers with an 80 pass on the first play in OT. They didn't need no stinking new rules.

Ben 22 of 40 for 289 yards, 1 TD 1INT (and one incomplete lateral given back to him) - Rating 75.9 (when it mattered)
Tim 10 of 21 for 316 yards, 2 TD 0 INT - Rating 125.6 (when it mattered)

Saw that someone noted that Tebow threw for 3:16 yards for coach John. :?

The five years are up, and I am officially sick and tired of seeing his name in all of the baseball headlines. Doesn't some NFL/CFL/World League/Flag Football League team need a backup QB?

I'm surprised that the Redskins haven't jumped, considering that they sent RG3 packing to Cleveland and Kirk Cousins still sucks.

His mistake was kneeling in the end zone for Jesus rather than on the sideline because cops are allowed to defend themselves.
