Bad Daddy

#1 Post by Buffacuse » Fri Feb 15, 2008 5:24 pm

Buffettina is teething and, frankly, making Damien Thorn seem like Shirley Temple...she loves cool stuff on her teeth so out of sheer desperation, I just gave her Fresca (on the rocks) in her bottle...

...she is no longer crying. If this doesn't work, the Yuengling's I have in the fridge...

You need those little mesh teething thingies.

Plastic handle, mesh pocket for fruit. Freeze bananas, blueberries, strawberries etc. Stick some in, put her in the high chair and let her go to town. Works like a charm. When they have more teeth a bag of mixed veggies frozen works great too. First baby duck would eat peas and corn and carrots while soothing his gums.

Also we have had moderate success with the Dr. Hylands teething tables. Homeopathic tablets placed under their tongue. Takes the edge off somehow.

Good luck.

Did you try Children's Motrin?

I understand the need to resort to Yuengling soon. One gentle comment is the diet sweeteners are not great for really young things.

But the sugar of a regular soda may have her bouncing of the ceiling.

Scotch on the gums should help.

If not, just chug directly from the bottle.

Sorry she is having such a rough time.

On the scale of "I'm at my wits end so I'll try this", Fresca is not so bad.

If it starts to be a common thing, you might want to think more about that.

Hope you all can get some sleep soon.

Ice water would be better than Fresca.

But I've had plenty of those days when you just say, "screw the baby books!" and do what ya gotta do. With Rain Man, the books are almost useless....
