According to tvgameshows.net, the producer of
National Bingo Night has taken the concept to GSN, where it will be called
Bingo America, debuting March 31. Patrick Duffy will host.
Home viewers will be able to download bingo cards to play along with the studio contestants; no word in the article as to whether those downloaded cards will be fixed as they were in the ABC game.
Doesn't this news bring all the old excitement flooding back?

Patrick Duffy? With gills, boots or step-children?
And are they bringing back the same commissioner? In referee's clothes?
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!
That'll be $10, please.

I just hope that Patrick knows how to play bingo. A couple of times the goober asked the crowd if anyone was one number away, and they had only called numbers in three of the five columns. There was no way anyone could have had a "wait" at that point.

If they had the three lined up with the free space, they would be 1 away.

Nitpickers.
If you ever go play bingo live, don't sit near old ladies. They get really pissy if you talk or laugh. Trust me. They can be pretty mean with their daubers.

Nothing is worse than sitting next to a bunch of people who have no clue how to play Bingo, or how to act in a Bingo hall.
I swing a pretty mean dauber too.....

I played bingo once with a Vietnamese woman I worked with. She didn't want to go alone. She had trouble understanding the numbers, so I had to whisper help to her, and we got the Death Glare from the biddies around us.
It wasn't My Thing. I never went back...

Never take a drunk person to a bingo center, either. I've made that mistake before.

Doesn't work if the group that owns the Bingo hall also sells liquor.
It can get real rowdy towards the end of the night sometimes.....
