But hardly surprising. Even the Bible has a statement that says (in the King James Version), "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live," the basis for the Salem witch trials. Fortunately our society has advanced to the point where we don't do such foolishness.

Outrageous, but if they're now only 315 years behind the USA in social enlightenment, it sounds as if they're making excellent progress.

It was originally not "a witch", as you noted. It was "a poisoner". Kind of big diff. The mistranslation was at the instigation of King James himself, who had a thing against witches.

When taking the Word of G-d for something, it would be good to take the orginal recipe translation.
