Big Decision-Which book/s to bring on my trip

I am over-analyzing which book to bring on my Mexico trip.

I would like some local flavor-maybe-

Hugh Thomas "Rivers of Gold" -about the Spanish Conquest of Latin America.

or I am leaning towards V.S. Naipaul book-The Loss of El Dorado-(easier to carry and more portable.

I just started The Road to Serfdom. but that is not a beach book.

I only plan to bring one-because I am going to try and buy some regional books there -if I can find some English language stuff.

I also figure to pick up a mystery or something at the airport.

Bring the smallest book. You will be having too much fun to read.

How about, Like Water for Chocolate? Romantic, light, Mexican and sweet!

That's a good book. There are actual recipes listed throughout the book.

It is kind of sexy too-I listened to it once on Tape-

My sister has given me strict orders not to wander off. I have a family reputation for exploring-so if I disappear into an unmarked grave-Goodbye-farewell-Auf Weidershein-Good Night

I saw Apocalypto Monday evening -- I thought it was great!

Some of the best chase scenes I've ever seen, only with people, not cars.

A bit too much blood for me -- I looked away some. I did that with Saving Private Ryan too.

There's always the possibility that I've been hanging around LB too much, especially when he lets the rodent out of his cage, but this time I searched Apocalypto because I enjoyed it and want to see if there was any Bored chitchat about it that I missed.

Then after I did the search and found something, I felt obligated to reply with a gratuitous post.
