A question on Play the Percentages asked the players to name the female species of the jackass. This show was a Barry-Enright show from 1980 hosted by Geoff Edwards which originally had married couples predicting how people answered general knowledge question, then later changed its format to having two solo contestants answering questions whose difficulty level was based on what percentage of the people asked the question got it wrong. In post production in a far more innocent time on TV, Dan Enright and his staff placed a graphic while the ladies were locking in their predictions reading: Jenny vs. Jenny Ass :)

I would have found 0 to be the logical trivia response, and some rationalization for 1, but 3 is truly WGAS material unless there is some anecdote in film or pop culture I'm missing. I think the dursting record is still the Titanic/Royal Mail Ship question.

I would be surprised if Michael Jordan remembers how many home runs he hit in the minors. That one was really out of left field, no pun intended.

But there is no excuse for not knowing which of those authors to associate with humor.

Well, if you look up a little further in the thread (I know, without infinite pyramid building, that's so much effort) you'll see that I was speculating about the 6% vote for the Michael Jordan question a record for the lowest percentage for the correct answer. But it appears that it's only in the running for second place.

LOL - no you didn't just answer his question. You did far more than that.

Just answering his question would have looked something like:

I was referring to the lowest percentage for the correct answer.

You poked him for not reading up the thread and you poked him for not using effort to do so. Then you answered the question and slid in the fact that your statement was wrong.

That's not the case.

I kinda enjoyed the way you answered his question.

I'd have sworn up and down MJ hit two homers in the minors.

That was the strike year though, and I'm sure he had 2 by the time it rolled around in August. Maybe he hit another one when baseball was essentially dead to me....

Ouch! And a shame because she traveled clear across the country for her shot and goes home with $1K while the guy from nearby gets a pretty nice payoff.

I did read all of the previous posts in the thread and thought you were referring to the lowest percentage for the correct answer. Will Durst gave Dr. Evil "100% confidence" that his PAF answer was correct, but it wasn't. Durst said nothing to rule out the correct answer. Any "Dursting record" should, then, be the highest percentage given to a wrong answer...

It is an odd quirk of language (one of many!). In reality the animal, male or female, is an "Ass". The male is a "Jack" and the female is a "Jenny". But you frequently see the term "jackass" and when it is not being applied to people it is often applied to all asses (or "donkeys", a whole nuther kettle of equine name for the same species, the origin of which is murky at best) in general.

But you would never refer to male horses as "stallionhorses". Or horses in general for that matter. They are just horses.
