Hmm, I tried the link you gave and didn't see any image or reference to Che. However, I did find this excellent FOX report about an image of Christ in a tree stump:

It's there, Confessor. On the wall of the Obama campaign office run by Hispanics is a flag of Texas overprinted with a white drawing of Che Guevara. Even though he too was an Hispanic, I am rather uncomfortable to see this Communist revolutionary (or, in today's terminology, "this terrorist") emblazoned on any flag with heroic status.

That wasn't a Texas flag.

It was Cuban flag with Che's image on it.

Oh, I see. I was supposed to watch the video. I'm not surprised to see Che used iconically in various contexts, but most people who do so have no clue who Che really was and any American politician who encourages or tolerates this among their supporters is hurting their own cause. I am under no delusion that Che was a good guy.

I was surprised to see lots of Che imagery in Northern Ireland recently, but then I was reminded that his mom was from Ireland and his full name was Ernesto Guevara Lynch, so at least it made some logical sense that some locals would relate to him.

Ah. Thanks for the correction. As an unTexan, I usually see the Texas flag only in connection with football games, and I haven't been to a game in many years. Now we just have to wonder why the campaign office thought it was a good idea to hang the flag of Cuba.

I don't know why they would do it, but I already blogged about it.

Well, it's probably preferable to Che's image superimposed on a flag of the USA.

I ran across this, which amused me

Some of the Houston Dynamo fans wave a flag with a black-and-orange image of Che on it. For a lot of Hispanic Ultras, those are the most fanatic soccer fans, that image of Che's face is a symbol of revolution, not necessarily Communist, just revolution in general. They know it pisses people off so they wave it all the more.

Still, no idea why the person in the video has the Cuban flag in particular with Che on it hanging behind the desk. Not a good idea to associate that with Obama.

From here, it certainly doesn't seem like the wisest political move he could make.

While 'he' didn't make the move, the person who did is far from some independent supporter. It was the manager of the local campaign office. The local office being in the largest city in one of, in not the most crucial state left to campaign in.

It doesn't look good, it is not good, and it shows what kind of people support and work for him. Most don't know who Che was or who Obama is. They don't care.

I think that there are a lot of places where things that represent Jesus -- a Cross, or some effort to portray Him -- should be taken down.

Places that don't really even try to abide by what He preached.

Maybe we should be wondering more about whose reputation is being dishonored here, with this poster.

You are correct that we need to fully back our refereeing of this civil war: Declare war. Institute a draft with no deferments (male or female). Put a dollar a gallon tax on gasoline to pay for it. Immediately impeach BuCheny for ignoring the Constitution.

BTW, a friend of mine who closely follows these things says that the video was shot before Obama's headquarters were opened in Houston. So he isn't sure where that was shot.
