Back to regular contestants !
Here's how I'd play this stack:
1. I figure it's either C or D-since they are both located in warmer locales. Ann Arbor can get pretty cold in January! I'm not sure, so I JTQ right off the bat.
2. the only thing that makes noise when you chew it is C-ice.
3. did ES submit this one?
4. very easy for me.
5. easy.
6. ouch. I'd ATA here and hope.
7. Definitely a WWOQ for me. JTQ here.

I don't know if Mecha03 is doing any special tricks or not, but the new HD broadcast makes the quality of that clip spectacular!

No idea why I knew Jesse James was dingus.
We visited his home in St. Joseph, Missouri and saw the bullet hole in the wall, so maybe I learned it there.

OK, I know it's random, but somehow it seems more than coincidental that the first person to reach the "Double Money" question gets $50,000.

At first I looked at the letters, but M-I-H-A-L... didn't seem to be conveying anything - certainly not any of the four answers. Then when I saw B, I did some quick counting. May, that's 3, I is 1, have is 4...aha!

From my recliner I guessed "dingus" but at the Hot Podium I probably would have used a JTQ. I thought of the movie "Dirty Dingus Magee" but I didn't think it had anything to do with fingers.

I saw Dirty Dingus Magee when it came out - we went specifically because someone that my Mom knew was related to to one of the screenwriters (I can't recall the relationship).
Meridith, I think, said it was slang for a dumb person/doing something dumb or something of that nature but I wonder if Steve had known that Dingus is also slang in Yiddish for penis that it might have been a Spoiler
tip-off?

I'll leave your spoiler to the mohel. But in the Maltese Falcon, the Sam Spade calls the bird "this dingus".

Amusing to see these Q's as compared to the ones the pseudolebrities get. If they had questions like this the charity might end up owing CindyBAM money...

I've heard "dingus" used in both of these contexts. However, I'm still not convinced I would've pulled the trigger, being unsure of its usage during that time period. Then again, it is a fun word to say, so maybe...

Likeable guy. Glad he did pretty well.
Q 2 - Was aggravated that he wasted ATA on a Q that he could have figured out the same way the audience did. What ELSE makes noise? Now if "Breadsticks" was the choice, it would have been a tougher call.
Q 3- Most certainly one of the writers having a giggle.
Q 6 - Good call on the JtQ. At first I thought - jeez, another wasted LL when I saw M and thought Mesozoic- etc. I woulda crashed & burned...
Very good job, in general.
I do find it a bit, oh, coincidental that the very first Double Money hit was the largest amount...

Yeah, Mesozoic and then what?
I think I've seen versions of this before, so noticing the 3.14... didn't take more than a few seconds for me. But this was another lost dream question for me, only because it would have given me a chance to use the coolest mnemonic I know for the geological periods (and epochs):
Camels often sit down carefully. Perhaps their joints creak? Persistent early oiling might prevent permanent rheumatism.
