I'm not usually into the celebrities and their antics but the "eye for an eye" debacle had me laughing out loud many times. It identified, very humorously, some of the issues with the audience nowadays (early clapping, pre-final reaction, etc.). Hopefully a clip surfaces online soon, it's worth a watch.

BTW, I just noticed that the logo for the Transcript team avatar is kind of outdated. Might I recommend this? :)

I must say that Anthony Anderson was the funniest, most entertaining celebrity contestant I have seen in twelve years of watching Millionaire.

He did seem to be having a lot of fun, didn't he? I'm glad he went for it, seeing as how he was going to pay the difference. He probably gives a lot to them, anyhow.

I was pretty sure of the Japan gift question because I know that Japan has a huge celebration dealing with cherry blossoms every year. The $100,000 question, however, was ridiculous.

I have to say that this guy is absolutely my favorite celebrity contestant (and normally I detest those shows!) that I've seen on Millionaire-- he was really funny, genuinely seemed to care about the charity, and obviously has been playing a great game!

Here's a link to the "Eye for an Eye" bit. HAHA! I actually hope someone posts his whole run because I thought it was very entertaining.

The warm-up comedian used to warn the audience about stuff like that. Doesn't he (whoever he is, this season) even try to do that any more? If not, I hope you got as much benefit out of the extra audience help as Anthony did!

Being a traditionalist who far prefers the old logo (and the old music and the old rules, etc. etc.) this member of BBTranscriptTeam votes to reject your suggestion. :P

That's a new one. Couldn't be something normal like "res ipsa loquitor" or "pro bono."

I've never been there, but I assume these are the cherry trees I've heard are growing in Washington D.C.

At the taping I was at (Chad's) they did warn us at least once, because there was some premature clapping going on. Can't explain why, but will after Chad's appearance airs.

R.

Of course! I think this trivia gets mentioned every spring, when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.

I also think this points to some commonsense among WWII-era politicians, that they didn't decide to chop down all those cherry trees and burn them for spite, after Pearl Harbor.

I assumed they were indigenous to that area and transplanted from the near vicinity. Shows what I know -- I'd never heard of Marley's trivia where they show the cherry blossoms in the spring.

He's doing well, even if he's a little slow in answering. A regular contestant probably wouldn't get that much time.

Captain Morgan, assuming it's named for Henry Morgan, was a pirate also.

That would have been my gut feeling also - it sounds Dutch and that points to Rembrandt.

I suspect they relax the rules for celebrities.

I replayed the DVR several times and I never heard whatever it was that he heard from the audience. This clip doesn't do it, either. Was it laughter or a gasp or something like that?

Vtown7 hasn't posted since October, but I've been quite curious as to what the reason for this might have been. If you're out there, please fill me in. Please?
