Snow squall

#1 Post by MarleysGh0st » Sun Feb 10, 2008 11:11 am

Yeesh! Half an hour ago it was nice and sunny. Now we've got a heavy snow squall moving through and it's mighty dark. I guess I wasted my effort sweeping last night's accumulation off the walkway.

You didn't think winter was over yet, did you?

Sun's back out now. It was a narrow, if intense, band of snow along the edge of the cold front.

But it's still heading your way, Pea! :P

We've been getting snow since last night. It's really cold-in the single digits with below zero windchills, the roads are barely passable (the police are telling people to stay home and not travel unless absolutely necessary-there have been MANY accidents all over the western part of Michigan) and the snowdrifts keep getting bigger.

It's supposed to stop after midnight-we get a brief reprieve tomorrow during the day, and then tomorrow night it starts back up again.

The groundhog was right. We're gonna get at LEAST 6 more weeks of winter.
I'm just a game show nerd.

For some strange reason, the weekend of Emma's birthday is always unseasonably warm in California. This weekend was no different. We have had lovely weather all weekend.

Sorry about your squalls.

We had one go by while we were talking with the DJ today. The weatherguessers call it "thundersnow", and it was, complete with thunder booms. Lasted maybe 15 minutes, and probably scared the heck out of the dog, who was very skittish when we came home.

My mom called later today because the news was reporting high winds and power outages up our way. Nothing like that in our part of town. However, the wind has come back, and just shook the house with a gust.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
