Well, the Cutty Sark is a ship!

It just happens to be one that was built about 250 years too late for Drake to sail it.

New shows, same old wasting of lifelines.

1. easy for me-this book comes up on J! frequently.
2. easy-I was surprised she knew it, because she looks too young to remember the 1960's.
3. super easy-Jordan is the only one in the desert!
4. easy
5. NFC. I doubt the audience would know, so I would JTQ.
6. I think it's B, but ATA to make sure-ironic that we see this one five days before the anniversary of 9/11.
7. A WWOQ for me. JTQ here.
8. A Cutty Sark IS a ship. but the correct answer here is B-Golden Hind. I guess she didn't study explorers in school.

As soon as she made the connection between Cutty Sark and a sailing ship I figured she was a goner. That's a pretty wicked distractor.

and because we are trivia buffs, a hind is what? and what was the name over the Golden Hind when the voyage started. And a favorite bit of trivia What was the nickname of the Spanish Galleon Drake pirated off the west coast of South America
Spoiler
A female red deer
Spoiler
Pelican
Spoiler
Despite her very proper name, the galleon Nuestra Señora de la Concepción was called by her sailors Cagafuego, which would translate into English as "fireshitter". Contemporary accounts presented the ship's name inaccurately as Cacafuego, which is the one that eventually endured. As it is, almost all references in English regarding this vessel list her name erroneously.
