Not the word he expected, but I suspect he could have gotten this by the process of elimination, if nothing else. Or decided that this was perfect for an ATA, as Meredith suggested, after the fact.

So, they must be trying for the "ironic chic" aura with that name?

I see at their website that they've got a children's book for sale, too. Maybe some BBs might want to read it to their kids.

RE: that doorbuster question and Michael not going for ATA....this is directed at those who have taped under the new version?

They don't have a clock anymore, but do they still make you feel rushed up there?

Cuz maybe Michael didn't slow down to think of reasoning it out or using ATA.

Yes, they do make you feel kind of rushed. Plus, depending on what time of day he did his taping, like if he had taped near the end, there's an extra rushed element to hurry up and power through it so you don't have to come back another day. They said you get 2 minutes max to think about a question and at that point, someone comes down and yells at you to hurry up. And if they have to come yell at you again to hurry up, you'll be disqualified and have to walk with whatever your bank is and they won't air your show. They said they've only have to disqualify one person in the past and it'd be really embarrassing to have to do it again.

Two minutes max?

I remember, back before TDC, that they were flexible about the time limit and would allow a contestant to continue deliberating as long as it was apparent that the contestant was making progress toward an answer and not just stalling.

Michael's appearance got a one-paragraph report in this column--right between two crime reports and a notice about the opening of a new hookah lounge!

I am sure no one yells at you.
