Wedding Blog - Big Day minus 183

I noticed yesterday that Big Day and Beautiful Daughter have the same acronym. Maybe I'll call this BD squared, Big Day for Beautiful Daughter. BD2 - (day number) sounds more like an equation than a blog title.

More on the food tasting. The venue had also allowed in a number of their preferred vendors, so we could see what they had to offer and speak with them. The "limp spaghetti handshake" photographer was there. We did get to speak with the florist of interest, who had placed different centerpieces on each table (around 40) so we could see their work. There was one we particularly liked, but it was $60-80 per table. Simple may be the order of the day with our centerpieces.

We left at the time the event was scheduled to end, and I think we missed the dessert table of "Mini Fruit Tarts and Cakes". There were so many people there that we had finished, gotten dessert from the bakeries which had displays and had our weak/bitter coffee before some tables had even gotten their main meal. The cakes from the bakery vendors, however, were excellent. The bakery under consideration before this is definitely still on our list. They may be the other appointment scheduled for today, besides a different florist.

We spoke with the DJ/entertainment vendor there, who also played during the meal. He was okay, but played the music way too loud. He told us to come up if we wanted him to lower the volume at any time, and someone did. The volume decreased. For about half a song. The next piece was back at original volume, so that we had to shout just to talk with our neighbor. The other fact we've found, from him and from another DJ I've contacted, is that the first guy we've been dealing with is reasonably priced, and lower than many. That's a useful bit of information.

Actually, all the vendors we've contacted seem to be right around the same prices. I suppose there is only a certain amount of variation that can be done for some things, like the photography. A larger part seems to be meeting with them and checking out the personalities. This is an important day (Obviousman speaking here), and you don't want to deal with someone who gets on your nerves or who does what they want and not what you want. Yes, there will be glitches, or so Mr. Murphy says, but you want to minimize the potential for those as much as you can up front.
