Today's game is brought to you by the Spelling Police. To get the full two points for the title you have to spell it the way it was spelled on the album. If you don't spell it that way but come close enough to show that you know the song you will get one point. The artist, which does not have to be spelled correctly, is two points, and there is a two-point bonus question.
1. She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is the darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark
And when the sky is starless
2. Don't you think the time is right for us to find
All the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time
And can you see
Which way we should turn together or alone
I can never see whats right or what is wrong
3. And now,
Now that you're near,
Promise your love
That I've waited to share
4. Can you show me
The shine of your Japan
The sparkle of your china
Can you show me
5. Sing it in the subway
Shuffle with a shoe shine
Mix me a Molotov
I'm on the hit line
6. Too many mountains, and not enough stairs to climb
Too many churches and not enough truth
Too many people and not enough eyes to see
Too many lives to lead and not enough time
7. When Cass was a sophomore, planned to go to Swathmore
But she changed her mind one day.
Standin' on the turnpike, thumb out to hitchhike,
"Take me to New York right away."
8. So you see I got a funny face,
I got no worries
And don't know why
I don't know why
Bonus: What was the actual cause of death of the singer named in the quoted lyrics for #7?

1. She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is the darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark
And when the sky is starless
Rhianna - Fleetwood Mac (I only know this one ends in a vowel and the singer ends in an N....)
2. Don't you think the time is right for us to find
All the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time
And can you see
Which way we should turn together or alone
I can never see whats right or what is wrong
Amie - Pure Prairie League (Holy crap! This one was bugging the hell out of me, and it's funny because the chorus was going through my mind tonight as I was brainstorming future LSWE ideas!!! The game it inspired will probably not happen for lack of fitting songs, but anyway.... funny that you used it and that I got stuck on it...)
3. And now,
Now that you're near,
Promise your love
That I've waited to share
Skreen Door Love - Sprots & ES
4. Can you show me
The shine of your Japan
The sparkle of your china
Can you show me
Yur Vajina - Beavis & Butthead
5. Sing it in the subway
Shuffle with a shoe shine
Mix me a Molotov
I'm on the hit line
Pop Musik - M
6. Too many mountains, and not enough stairs to climb
Too many churches and not enough truth
Too many people and not enough eyes to see
Too many lives to lead and not enough time
Undun - Guess Who (This one had to be in here. Krox inspired a point bonus for spelling it correctly when I use it in the LSWE....)
7. When Cass was a sophomore, planned to go to Swathmore
But she changed her mind one day.
Standin' on the turnpike, thumb out to hitchhike,
"Take me to New York right away."
Creeque Alley - Mamas & the Papas
8. So you see I got a funny face,
I got no worries
And don't know why
I don't know why
Cum on Feel the Noiz - Quiet Riot (I think this is the correct fancy spelling, and I got a C-Note that says Fanny used Slade as the artist, though I've still never heard their version before. I need to check that out this morning....)
Too bad you don't listen to more recent music, or you could have expanded this game fivefold. Spelin ain't what it used to be.....
And where the heck was "I Do' Wanna Know"!?!?!? Sigh!
Bonus: What was the actual cause of death of the singer named in the quoted lyrics for #7?
I know the urban myth is that she choked on a ham sandwich, which is one of the greatest urban myths ever.... but if it isn't that she wound up choking on her own vomit, then I don't know. I may be conflating this with Jim Morrison or Jimi Hendrix.... all those damn 60's singers and their untimely deaths....

Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.......
You should have known better than that. I don't do that just to be a smart ass or affectatious, I give the artist that I think had the superior version or that I think should get just cred for it. Although I almost put (Slade, yeah, whatever.....) in parens just in the remote case that Elwood actually thinks of it as a Slade song.....
And you should know by now that I love the Quiet Riot! Although I'm embarrassed to admit I had a short brain lock on that because when I read the first line Fox on the Run started going through my head. It would have been so embarrassing to miss one of my all time fave songs!
I also have a fun fact story about this song, but I think I might have used it before, so I abstained. Plus I'm trying to become a little less wordy because I think that the meisters don't like my babbling, so the goal is one or less Fanny Fun Facts per game.....
ES can drop off my C-note when he comes by with Lizbit and Bebe to pick up my Pitbull CD......
PS
Ha! re: RIhanna. I didn't know why you were referencing Disturbia and then I went back and read your answer to #1 again. The first time I read it I didn't know what the french you were talking about, as I thought "the singer" you were referencing was Stevie Nicks......
